Virtual Dietitian for PMOS (formerly PCOS)
A registered dietitian can help you manage PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome), the new name for PCOS, by improving insulin sensitivity, supporting hormone balance, and building sustainable eating habits without crash diets or cutting out entire food groups. At EM Nutrition, our team provides virtual, one-on-one PMOS and PCOS nutrition counseling to clients nationwide, and many sessions are covered by insurance.
What is PMOS?
PMOS is the updated name for the condition previously known as PCOS. It was renamed in 2026 to better reflect that this is a whole-body endocrine and metabolic condition, not just an ovarian one. The care is the same, and both names will be used during the transition, so you may see PMOS and PCOS used interchangeably.
How does nutrition help with PMOS?
PMOS is closely tied to how your body handles blood sugar and insulin. The right nutrition approach can help steady blood sugar, reduce cravings, support a healthy weight, ease symptoms like fatigue and irregular cycles, and improve fertility outcomes. Rather than a rigid diet, your dietitian builds a realistic plan around the foods, schedule, and preferences you already have.
What working with us looks like
You will meet one-on-one with a registered dietitian over secure video. Together you will review your labs, symptoms, and goals, then build a plan focused on balanced meals, steady energy, and habits you can actually keep. We work on the whole picture, blood sugar, hormones, and your relationship with food, not just a list of foods to avoid.
Is PMOS nutrition counseling covered by insurance?
Often, yes. Many plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Aetna, cover medical nutrition therapy, sometimes up to 100%. We verify your coverage before your first session. If we are out of network, we provide a superbill for possible reimbursement and accept FSA and HSA cards. Book a free 15-minute consultation to get matched with the right dietitian for you.
